1. Wireless charging

A growing number of high-end smartphones is characterized by wireless charging – it's convenient, it's fast enough and it's a lot easier than playing with a load of wires. Until now, OnePlus has avoided introducing the wireless charging feature into its phones, mainly because technology can be expensive and OnePlus phones are usually mid-range, but we'd like this change for its first real premium phone.

2. Interesting design variations

The OnePlus phones are usually stylish in design, but the company has shown that it knows how to make a great handset with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition: its black case and gold finishes are eye-catching and, more importantly, rather unique.

While phones like the Huawei P30 and Honor View 20 have brightly colored and colorful patterns on the back, you can find them as easily eclectic as they are screaming. On the other hand, the McLaren Edition handset is sober and daring. So we trust OnePlus to create a great device that does not rely on bright colors or delirious patterns.

We would even be happy with some newer colors – most handsets are available in black, white and sometimes blue. If OnePlus chose another color, it would make a new design. According to rumors, the company would work on a variant Almond, which could be a kind of light brown. If OnePlus uses a similar design to the McLaren phone, it may look very chic.

3. Support for microSD cards

OnePlus phones typically offer storage options of up to 256 GB, which suits most consumers, but experienced users often want more storage. If OnePlus has to launch its Pro range with a device designed for heavy users, it could not go wrong with expandable memory.

Nowadays, few phones have an expandable memory, and this lasts a lifetime, as handsets like the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 offered the possibility, but it remains a valuable addition to the devices.

MicroSD slots occupy valuable space in a phone. So, instead of allowing expandable memory, OnePlus could also consider creating a 512GB storage version of the phone, which is once again something it had never done before. Since "plus" size phones can sometimes have up to 1TB of storage, as in the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, this is not impossible.

4. A kind of reinforcement for mechanical parts

Many rumors about the OnePlus 7 Pro indicate that it has a full screen and a contextual camera. As with any mechanical or mobile part of a smartphone, we have our concerns. Will it be broken if we let go, or if we hit it too hard against a surface, or will it just collapse due to its normal use, like Samsung Galaxy Fold devices many criticism?

5. A better network of speakers

Many smartphones have only one speaker for music and sounds. It's great if you want to listen to music while the phone is hanging around, but if you're trying to stream a movie or play a game, you can often have your hand covering the speaker, so your music is smothered .

In addition, the quality of the music can be satisfactory with a single speaker, but it is often much better with the surround sound effect that can be created when a handset has multiple speakers.

If the OnePlus 7 Pro is to be a top-of-the-line device, OnePlus would stand out from the competition by a high-end audio system, with multiple speakers and an extended dynamic range.

Alternatively, OnePlus could distract us with a 3.5mm headphone jack, which many phones seem to fall off these days. If we could just listen to music with our traditional wired headphones, that would not bother us.
