PITTSBURGH – Allegheny County Health Department’s new vaccine registration system is now open to the public.
People looking for vaccine appointments can register online by CLICKING HERE.
You will have four options when you visit the website:
- Schedule the first dose
- Schedule the second dose
- Reschedule an appointment
- Cancel appointment
If you choose “Schedule the first dose” you will answer four questions, three of which are used to assess whether you are eligible for vaccination before answering the medical screening questions. If you are eligible, the next step will be to schedule one.
People scheduling their second dose will need a code. It caused confusion on Thursday due to an email issue, but it is expected to be resolved on Friday, the health ministry said.
Emails sent Thursday to people trying to schedule their second dose did not include the necessary code. New corrected emails were then sent out, but some people received a message that the clinics were full or that new appointments were not available. As a result, the health department decided to stop sending emails until Friday, after overnight testing and a fix.
Appointments for the first dose and pre-registration are not affected, the health ministry said.
If you are not eligible for vaccination or if no appointment is available, you will be prompted to pre-register. You will then be notified by email or text when you will be able to get vaccinated and make an appointment. If you are pre-registered, you will have priority to make an appointment 48 hours before the remaining appointments are open to the general public.
Anyone who does not have an email can call 211 for help making an appointment every day from 9 a.m. to noon. You can also pre-register by phone if you are not eligible or if no appointment is available.
