RED BATON, La. – KeVaughn Allen has posted a 21-point performance with a pair of three-pointers at the end of overtime, and Florida beat No. 13 LSU 82-77 on Wednesday night.

Jalen Hudson and Noah Locke each scored 15 points for Florida (15-11, 7-6 SEC), which won three straight wins after defeats against Kentucky, Tennessee and Auburn.Naz Reid had 16 points and 15 rebounds for LSU (21-5, 11-2), who lost only for the second time in 16 games and saw his series of four victories break.

Skylar Mays scored 18 points for the Tigers, which saw the match begin to slip when Allen's 3 consecutive sets gave Florida a 76-70 lead with a goal at 1:12.

Tremont Waters, LSU's top scorer this season, had a hard time. With the equal score in the final seconds of setting, he desperately missed a pull-up 3. And when a late flight gave LSU the chance to tie the match with less than 20 seconds in overtime, Waters again missed 3 to 3-of-12 shots, including 2 out of 8 to 3 points.

Waters finished with 10 points, as did Kavell Bigby-Williams and LSU's Marlon Taylor.

Florida won for the first time this season against a ranked team after losing all six previous matches.

Florida: The Gators have arrived at Baton Rouge with realistic hopes of winning enough to make the NCAA Tournament. A win on the road against one of the most prominent teams in the country should help. The Gators have once again demonstrated their defensive prowess and their ability to compete with the best in the SEC. During regulation, Florida maintained LSU at nearly 19 points less than its average per game.

LSU: After winning each of their previous four games by five points for fewer points, the Tigers were unable to shoot another blow and went to 3-2 in overtime this season. LSU also tied with Tennessee for first place in the SEC and is now tied with Kentucky – a team she beat last week – for the second.
