– A Moore County nursing home has reported an outbreak of the coronavirus, with 48 residents and 10 staff confirmed positive.

A COVID outbreak is defined as two or more laboratory-confirmed cases. This is the second outbreak at The Greens in Pinehurst.

The Greens’ first outbreak was declared over on October 30. This outbreak has generated a total of eight confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Tests conducted from November 29 to December 2 produced the latest round of positive results. Now, the facility will continue with weekly testing until the outbreak at its facility is over.

Peak Resources Pinelake and Quail Haven are also experiencing their second outbreak. Moore County has seen 19 outbreaks in long-term care facilities this year.

A total of 3,089 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Moore County to date.
