Alolan Ninetails new Pokemon Unite Holowear skin costs $ 40

Pokemon Unite yesterday released a new “Sacred Style” Holowear for Alolan Ninetails, and it’s the most expensive released to date. The Zirco Trading in-game store lists the new cosmetic item at 2,499 Aeos Gems, which is about $ 40.

The official Pokemon Unite Twitter Account released yesterday to celebrate the skin’s launch, which prompted fans to respond with criticism of Holowear’s price, as well as calls to lower its cost.

The Pokemon Unite team has yet to respond publicly to the comments.

Holowear are in-game cosmetics that make Pokemon look different; they have no impact on the gameplay. Some can be acquired in exchange for Holowear Tickets, which players can earn through Pokemon Unite’s lucky-based gacha mini-game. However, the “Sacred Style” Holowear is not one of those items.

The bulk of Pokemon Unite’s Holowear, including Alolan Ninetails’ new look, can only be purchased with Aeos Gems, and the only way to get them is to buy them for real money. Additionally, players can only purchase different levels of gems, rather than the exact amount they need.

With the exception of the bonus gems that can be received as part of the Pokemon Unite first-time purchase promotion, the most profitable way to collect enough gems for the stylish new Ninetails skin is to pay $ 39.99 for a total of 2,740 Aeos Gems, even if you don’t wish to spend 2,499.

This isn’t the first time Pokemon Unite has found itself in hot water due to microtransactions. The game had previously been accused of being paid for when it launched in July – something the developers have assured fans that they will work to resolve the issue in future updates.
