Alone at home: police say 11-year-old hacker hit machete

MEBANE, N.C. – According to the authorities, an 11-year-old man armed with a machete thwarted the invasion of three people at home in North Carolina.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office announced Friday in a press release that the boy was alone at home in Mebane when a woman knocked on the door. At about the same time, a man entered the house by breaking a window, grabbed the owner's pistol and forced the child into a closet in the bedroom.

The child had a machete and hit the intruder at the back of the head. The man kicked the boy in the belly and on the side of the head.

The intruder, the woman and a second man standing near a car fled when the intruder realized that he was bleeding.

Authorities say Jataveon Dashawn Hall, 19, faces charges, including kidnapping, at the exit of a hospital.
