Altice adds Amazon Prime Video to its OTT range

Altice USA will integrate Amazon Prime Video into its Altice One video streaming platform.

Altice USA will provide the Altice One OTT platform to its Optimum and Suddenlink customers in their respective regions across the country. With this launch, the Amazon Prime Video app will be available natively on Altice One and alongside live, on-demand and on-demand live video services provided with Altice One.

Altice One uses a compact home hub with a personalized user interface, integrated access to streaming applications and a search via a voice-activated Bluetooth remote control. The cable operator said in July that it had 429,000 unique Altice One customers as of the second quarter of 2019 (about 13% of the total number of video customers, compared with 4% at the end of the second quarter of 2018).

This is the second collaboration between Amazon and Altice USA. The two companies have recently partnered with a personal speaker called Altice Amplify, which incorporates features of Amazon Alexa. Altice Amplify also provides voice control for Altice One.

Altice One customers will have access to Prime Video in the coming months via the Prime Video app on the Altice One UI and via the Amazon Prime Video mobile app.

Altice USA already provides streaming applications for Netflix and YouTube.
