Alton Brown responds to fan who was ‘disappointed’ after the chief revealed he was a conservative: ‘I used my own platform to say what I think’

Celebrity chef Alton Brown hit back at a fan who said he was disappointed to have conservative views.

The Good Eats star revealed his political leanings in a tweet on Monday, writing that he had voted Republican most of his life and was a Conservative.

“I have voted Republican most of my life. I consider myself to be a conservative. I want to believe that there are still ‘really good’ people on both sides of the aisle but … if the #GOP leaders don’t stick their collective noses out of this man’s ass, we’re going to have words, wrote the former Food Network star.

Shortly after her post, a fan replied, “… and I really liked and still love your shows. You made me a better and more adventurous cook. I’m not angry… just incredibly disappointed.

In response, the author took issue with the sentiment of the Twitter user.

“Frankly, you don’t have the right to be disappointed with me. Not at all. I used my own platform to express my opinion. You may not like me, sure, but the disappointment in me should be reserved, say, for bad recipes.

Alton later tweeted again, explaining that he actually voted for Joe Biden in last week’s election.

“Let me clarify: I voted Republican in previous years. But, I voted for and strongly support # BidenHarris2020 as well as @ReverendWarnock and @ossoff in my state. It is time for decency and unity to trump tribalism, racism and misinformation.

The TV personality made no secret of his dislike of Donald Trump, once sharing an article about his resignation.

He wrote alongside, “I’m posting this not because I want to be political, but because it deeply touches my own personal history and that of those I love.
