Aluminum hits ten-year high after coup in Guinea jeopardizes bauxite supplies

Aluminum prices hit a 10-year high on Monday after a military coup in mineral-rich Guinea threatened to scold the light metal supply chain.

As of noon ET, three-month aluminum futures on the London Metal Exchange rose 1.3% to $ 2,768 per metric tonne, their highest level since early 2011.
