In a candid and revealing interview, Amanda Bynes spoke about her fight against drug addiction and said that the experience of making her 2006 comedy "She's the Man" had led her to believe that she was not the only one. she describes as "a deep depression".
"When the movie came out and I saw it," she told Paper Magazine, "I have sunk into a deep depression for four to six months because I do not have it. did not like my appearance when I was little. "
Directed by Andy Fickman, "She's the Man" starred Bynes as a teenager who, after the cup of his girls' school football team, disguises herself as a boy to play in an exclusive preparatory school for men. Byrnes told the newspaper that seeing each other with short hair and whiskers was "an extremely strange and extracorporeal experience. It really put me in the funk.

The film also presents Channing Tatum in his first role in a feature film. "I totally fought for Channing [to get cast in] this film because it was not yet famous, "said Bynes. "He had just done an advertisement in Mountain Dew and I thought," This guy is a star – every girl will love him! " [the producers] "He's so much older than you all!" And me too, "It does not matter! Believe me!"
About her addiction, Bynes said she did not really drink much during her teenage years, but started smoking marijuana at the age of 16.
"Even though everyone thought I was the" good girl ", I smoked marijuana from that time." She says. "I did not become addicted [then] and I did not abuse it. And I did not go out to party or ridicule myself … again. "

She added, "Later she started doing molly and ecstasy. [I tried] cocaine three times but I never took cocaine. I have never liked that. It was never my drug of choice … I definitely abused Adderall. "
She said she had read an article in which it was said that Adderall was "the new slim pill", which prompted her to want to get her hands on it. She said she was able to obtain a prescription after consulting "a psychiatrist and simulated the symptoms of ADD".
"When I was doing 'Hall Pass', I remember being in the caravan and I was in the habit of chewing Adderall tablets because I thought they'd have me there. made [more] high [that way], "she says," I remember biting a bunch of them and literally having my brain cut off and not being able to concentrate on my lines or memorize them elsewhere.
She recounted that she "remembers seeing my image on the screen and literally stumbled into thinking that my arm was so big because it was at first." plan or anything and I remember getting thrown off the board thinking, "Oh my god, I look so bad. ""
In 2014, Bynes was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. She had already been detained for hitting a police car in 2012 and had entered rehab the following year. The former Nickelodeon star said she was "sober for almost four years".
