Amazon announced on Monday the rollout of fitness tracking features to its Echo Buds headphones. It’s a feature that CNBC noticed that Amazon was testing last year.

Amazon said the Echo Buds can track how long a workout takes, the steps you take, your estimated calories burned, and how fast you walk or run. The feature will roll out over the next few days, according to the company.

CNBC has yet to test the functionality, but dedicated fitness products like smartwatches are likely able to provide more detailed information as they measure from your wrist. Amazon’s Halo laptop appears to be the company’s most serious approach to health monitoring.

Amazon said customers can get started by doing this:

  • Open the Alexa app on your phone.
  • Tap “More” at the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap “Settings.”
  • Choose Account Settings.
  • Tap Workouts.
  • Select “Create training profile”.

After a workout, Echo Buds users can view stats by doing the following:

  • Open the Alexa app.
  • Tap devices.
  • Choose “Echo and Alexa”.
    Select “Echo Buds”.
  • Select “Workouts”.

Echo Buds owners can start a workout by saying “Alexa start my run”. You can also ask Alexa to pause a workout, end a workout, and request a pace update.
