The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has been the subject of an endless stream of leaks, but now Amazon Canada has just lifted the veil on the last of the mysteries

We now know all about the design, features and pricing of Samsung’s Wear OS smartwatch, and the latest in its line of premium smartwatches.

As expected, there will be two versions: the standard Galaxy Watch 4 and a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

The standard Galaxy Watch 4 will land in 40mm and 44mm sizes and resemble the design language of the older Galaxy Watch Active 2 with an aluminum casing.

It will have a compact, light and sporty design, the larger 44mm device will have a 1.39 inch AMOLED display and a 361mAh battery.

Amazon just disclosed everything about the Galaxy Watch 4

Classic Galaxy Watch 46mm

While we are already familiar with most of this, the list of features is a bit surprising. The standard Galaxy Watch 4 will include body composition analysis, advanced sleep tracking, VO2 Max, blood oxygen tracking, and a heart rate monitor.

Next is the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. This will land in the 42mm and 46mm versions with a stainless steel case. Again, there’s body composition analysis, advanced sleep tracking, VO2 Max, blood oxygen tracking, and a heart rate monitor. And the Classic will retain the iconic rotating bezel.

And we also got additional details on pricing and availability.

An Amazon release date is set for August 27. We also have Canadian prices, which changed directly to USD, reveal a much lower price than we expected:

  • Galaxy 4 40mm Watch: CA $ 309 ($ 246)
  • Galaxy Watch 4 44mm: CA $ 346 ($ 276)
  • Galaxy Watch 4 Classic: 42mm CA $ 427 ($ 341)
  • Galaxy Watch 4 Classic: 46mm CAD $ 463 ($ 370)

We already know that the Galaxy Watch 4 will run on a new version of Wear OS 3.0 from Google, which the company says is unified with Tizen technology.

The watches will have a unique user interface, so they will keep the look and feel of Samsung, but will be able to take advantage of the Wear OS app store.

Google is hoping that the arrival of Samsung will boost the adoption of Wear OS and, just as important, the interest of developers in the platform.

As always, we are awaiting an official inauguration, which appears to be set for August 11.
