from amazon New world has been delayed several times since 2020, but it looks like the September 28 release date announced in August will be the one that stays. During the Gamescom opening night live stream, Amazon announced that the open beta will run from September 9 to 12.
A closed beta was delayed in July. Delays for New world began in April 2020, following problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. New world is an MMO, for Windows PC, where players colonize a fictional continent somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. Players in groups of around 50 can compete against each other in massive battles.
Amazon Game Studios first announced the game in 2016 at TwitchCon, alongside two other PC games: Break away, which has been canceled, and Crucible, which was released and then unpublished before development was finally halted.
Gamescom continues this week, though Microsoft hosted a pre-show event on Tuesday, in which it made announcements regarding Forza Horizon 5, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Xbox Game Pass and, of course, Trebuchets.
