To be clear, some Android TVs already have access to Prime Video, but Google is announcing that it will apply to more models of TVs, set-top boxes and streaming devices as of today. You will be able to download the app from Google Play or by clicking on the app's icon on the home screen of your TV. The availability of Prime Video on Google's devices is only half the story, but the companies have also restored Fire TV's access to YouTube.
Google had blocked Fire TV's access to YouTube since 2017, as the tech giants' quarrel escalated and it was so far unreachable. The current agreement only concerns Fire TVs and not the Echo Show units, but now that the two previously conflicting companies have been formed, a YouTube app for the device is no longer feasible.
