Amazon rolls out new user interface for Fire TV

[ad_1]

This week, Amazon unveiled a redesigned user interface for its Fire TV line of streaming devices. The new “Fire TV Experience” aims to deliver a more intuitive and personalized interface when it rolls out starting this week. It looks like the update will come in waves and the first will be the company’s recent 3rd generation Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite. Users of the two new devices are expected to see the new interface in the coming weeks.

Noteworthy is a new home screen and a main navigation menu located right in the middle of the screen. You will see a large content illustration at the top and a traditional tile grid below. As for the main bar itself, you’ll have access to your library, live content, and a search feature under “Search.” You’ll also have direct access to key apps via smaller thumbnails along the menu bar.

Amazon also featured a revised Search menu with key genres and categories, as well as a profile selection screen, where up to six household members can create their own user profiles. The company says the updated interface also includes improved Alexa integration. We are looking forward to gain some practical time with experience in the near future. In the meantime, 3rd generation Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite users should see the update appear in the coming weeks.
