An echo with better sound quality makes a lot of sense, since Amazon could launch a high fidelity version of its Music Unlimited service at a price of $ 15 per month. This also gives it a way to compete with Google's Home Max, a speaker offering greater fidelity than anything Amazon has to offer.
Although Amazon has a very comfortable lead in the smart speaker market, it has slowly dropped while Google's share has gone up. Amazon recently released Echo Sub for better bass, as well as Echo Plus, which offers better sound than Echo. However, there is still no product in competition with Sonos speakers compatible Alexa or Home Max, in terms of sound.
On a much weird note, Bloomberg also reported that Amazon had stepped up its work on a domestic robot named Vesta, which had been seen for the first time last year. The company apparently has assigned other project engineers to this project, a sign that its commercialization is at least serious.
According to Amazon insiders, it could be something of a kind of mobile Alexa that will follow you like a dog, broadcasting music or movies in any part of it of your house. It is supposed to be at the height of the waist, uses the computer vision to navigate and can be summoned to the voice. It's hard to imagine that Amazon is releasing a butler-like robot, given the cost and complexity of the butler, but if it sounds more like an echo attached to a Roomba (as shown by a Bezos Instagram message 2018), this might seem logical.
