Amazon’s New World closed beta is live, and while many gamers enjoy the game, gamers who have systems with RTX 3090 graphics cards are seeing their gaming rigs ruined by the upcoming MMORPG.
Reports on the New World subreddit indicate that trying to launch New World while using an RTX 3090 will fry it completely, forcing those affected to contact the manufacturers for refunds or replacements. The issue seems to affect EVGA RTX 3090 cards more than other GPUs, but it’s worth noting that people using other versions of the 3090 have reported issues with overheating and dangerous power spikes.
All in all, this is a pretty strange issue and hopefully Amazon developers will be able to pinpoint the root cause of this issue. If you are an RTX 3090 owner, I highly recommend that you avoid playing New World until the developers at Amazon issue an official statement about it and confirm that the issue has been resolved. You strength that’s fine if you decide to play the game, but I wouldn’t take the risk – especially since the RTX 3090 is incredibly expensive and very rare.
VPN offers: lifetime license for $ 16, monthly plans for $ 1 and more
New World is available for $ 40 for pre-order now and is expected to launch in full on August 31 on Windows 10 (and Windows 11). In particular, the pre-order will give you access to the closed beta. Amazon aims to deliver a high-quality MMORPG experience to PC gamers around the world with New World, although whether or not the game has the depth to hang on to the best PC games on the market remains to be seen. Bringing up graphics cards for $ 1,500 is certainly not a good start.
