A frenzied search was launched Sunday in Texas on a 5-year-old girl whose father-in-law told the police that she had been kidnapped by three men who had assaulted her during a car theft, announced the authorities.
An Amber alert was issued on Sunday morning for Houston 's Maleah Davis, who was last seen wearing a pink bow in her hair, a light blue zipper jacket, a raincoat. blue jeans and sneakers, the police said.
The police are asking the public to help him find the girl, whom we saw for the last time around 9 pm. Sunday in the stolen van of his family with the three mysterious men, said the police.

His father-in-law, whose name was not disclosed, told the police that he was going to the airport to pick up Maleah's mother when he noticed that his vehicle was not functioning properly and that it stopped, according to officials from the Houston Police Department. He told the police that the suspects had approached him and he had initially thought that they would offer their help.
Instead, they assaulted and knocked him out, the police said.
The father-in-law said that when he regained consciousness, he was lying on the side of the road with his 2-year-old son, who was also not named, the authorities said.
But, according to the police, Maleah and her 2010 Chevrolet blue cab cabin van were gone.
He said he had arrested a passerby who had taken him to the hospital, where he had been treated for minor injuries, the police said. His toddler was not hurt.
During his stay at the hospital, the father-in-law called a family member and asked him to contact the police, authorities said.
Maleah was last seen in the men's vehicle on the Southwest Freeway near State Highway 6 in Sugar Land, about 22 km southwest of Houston, police said.
