Amber Portwood, star of 'Teen Mom OG', explains why she returned to the cinema after leaving last season

Amber Portwood insisted that she was done with it Teen Mom OG after last season, but there was one huge thing that convinced her to continue telling her story.

In the first season of the MTV series on Monday, Portwood told fans what had changed between its major collapse in last season's final and the filming of the new season.

"Last year everything was setting up for me – I had a great boyfriend [Andrew Glennon], a handsome son James, and [ex Gary Shirley] and I was finally co-parenting [daughter Leah] better, "she began.

"But I struggled with postpartum depression and people said very negative things about me on the Internet, which did not help," she revealed. "I was in a bad place, so I had to take time for myself."

It was then that the overwhelming support of people who were not there to drag her away made her entrance.

"But the support of my fans made me change my mind, so I agreed to come back and film," admitted Portwood. "I've really been isolated in the last few months, so I'm finally ready to reconnect with my family."

After being criticized online for his "lazy" parents, Portwood insisted that this season would change things for his screenplay.

"I have enough that every season depresses me," said the MTV star. "It makes me really sad that people think about me … I can tell you that some messages bother me, but I do not even read the whole text anymore."

Now, she revealed that by seeing something negative in herself, she would only read the number needed to understand the tone before blocking or muting the naysayer.

"If I do not do it, I will have another mental depression," she said.
