Conclusion: AMD’s highly anticipated Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors launched late last week in four different flavors across a price range. Unfortunately for some potential buyers eager to part with their money, inventory issues prove to be an early hurdle.
A quick check at Amazon doesn’t yield any results for AMD’s new lineup. It’s a similar story on Newegg as all Zen 3 models are out of stock. Tiger Direct has nothing either. You’ll get better results from outlets like eBay, but expect to pay a hefty premium.
Similar “inventory” issues plagued the launch of Nvidia’s Ampere GPU last month, prompting the company to push back the RTX 3070’s arrival date by two weeks, to October 29.
There is a big difference between a “paper launch” and shipping tons of units, but demand exceeds supply.

Responding to some of the concerns on Twitter, AMD’s Frank Azor said there was a difference between a “paper launch” and shipping tons of units, but demand exceeded supply.
When asked if AMD had implemented a plan to prevent bots from interfering with the launch of Zen 3, Azor said they made a great effort which was successful in many cases. “It’s a battle that is never completely won,” Azor added, applauding the efforts of his team and those of business partners. “We continue to learn and adapt with each launch. We want our products to be in the hands of their users. “
