AMD reportedly dropped Radeon RX 590 to 229 USD, RX 580 to 199 USD

NVIDIA has upset the graphics card game for less than $ 300 with its new GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (our critic here) and now, new rumors suggest that AMD is preparing price cuts for its Radeon RX 580 and Radeon RX 590 graphics cards.

No, these price cuts will not be like the false news that spread like wildfire last week and saw rumors that AMD would have lowered the price of the Radeon RX Vega 56 to $ 279. $ 199 and the RX 590 to $ 229. AMD has launched the Radeon RX 590 at 279 USD. A significant reduction of $ 50 would help sell a lot more units, while a retail price of less than $ 200 on the RX 580 would make it an even bigger seller.

Do not forget that the Radeon RX 580 and RX 590 cards are both 8 GB. Even though the RX 580 is offered in a 4 GB model, expect it to be a little cheaper than the advertised price of $ 199. We should expect these price cuts to come into effect in the next two weeks, after which it will be pretty quiet until June or so when AMD unveils Navi.
