COLUMBIA, MONTH – Other flights will be added to the schedule of the Columbia Regional Airport next month.
American Airlines has announced that it will offer four flights a day between Columbia and Chicago instead of the current two starting May 3rd. A spokesman for the airline said in an email that this decision was made because of the "solid performance" of flights between Columbia and Chicago.
The airline also offers flights to and from Dallas Ft. Worth and United Airlines offer daily flights to Chicago and Denver.
The hump became a problem after the closure of the main runway of the airport on April 1 for a rehabilitation project and commercial flights began to use the secondary runway. Flights resumed Sunday after the runway closed for less than a week.
