American Idol Top 24: Was Liahona Olayan Successful? Who has succeded?

When Liahona Olayan last took the “American Idol” stage, she received a talk from Katy Perry.

Olayan’s brother – the one who encouraged her to pursue music in the first place – had recently been eliminated. Advancing in the competition without his sidekick was so difficult that Olayan struggled to perform.

Perry told the 17-year-old singer she was acting “defeated” and “sabotaging” her chances of making it far in the competition, the Deseret News reported. But Olayan still made it to the Showstopper tour anyway.

But to pass this round and enter the top 24, she had a lot to prove.

“What Katy said on the last round made me more determined to remind her why she picked me in the first place,” Olayan said in a clip released before her Showstopper performance Monday night. “This performance, I’m just going to give it my all and show her that, ‘Hey, I’m here, and I’m here to stay. Whatever you thought last time, it wasn’t me. It’s me.'”

And Olayan stepped it up. Backed by a full band, the Vineyard, Utah singer put on an energetic performance of Meghan Trainor’s “Me Too” Monday night on the “Idol” stage. She danced across the stage with a smile on her face, and brought the song to a dynamic end by doing a split.

“Here it is!” Perry screamed after the performance.

That was Olayan’s reaction.

“Seeing Katy stand up literally made me cry because I just wanted to make her proud,” the singer said during the episode.

And then it was time for the “Idol” judges to reveal the fate of Olayan.

“When I put it down the other day, I was bowled over,” Perry told Olayan. “I was really upset because if there’s a conversation in your head that says, ‘I’m not enough, I can’t compete with those big voices, I’m not good enough without my brother – it doesn’t. is not real. And I think the sooner you flip a switch in your mind, the sooner all the doors will open for you.

“Idol” judge Luke Bryan then officially welcomed Olayan into the top 24, adding that she had a lot of potential.

“We want what’s best for you because we think you have a lot to add to music,” he said.

“What can I say? I left everything on the floor and had the most fun I have ever had! Olayan wrote on Twitter after the episode aired. “Thanks for your support and be sure to stay tuned to @American Idol to see more of what I have in my pocket of stuff.
