Joseph Allen is not only an extraordinary performer and creative power, he is a true source of inspiration.
The 21-year-old Texan singer-songwriter participated in the American America's Got Talent scene Tuesday, where he proved to be one of the most powerful, charismatic and magnetic performers that the show has seen for years.
"I've always had the idea of saying something before I accomplish it," Allen said in a pre-recorded package, explaining that when he focuses on something he becomes a singular goal and realizes it. "I learned to mix music, produce, design, and now I'm here."
Even before he opened his mouth to sing, Allen's smile and charm were already gaining public applause. When Judge Simon Cowell asked why he had chosen to participate in the contest this year, Allen's inspiring response seduced the audience.
Writes an original song for his appearance in the series
"I consider myself as someone who can have a major impact on the world and I just want to know what footprint I can leave on earth before leaving."
It was clear that the judges did not know what to expect, especially after Allen said that he had written an original song just for his appearance in the series, but from the very beginning of his performance, it was obvious that he was a power plant.
The song – which includes the probable prophetic words "after today, the world is going to know my name" – was a perfect showcase of his talents and was greeted by an overwhelming standing ovation.
After receiving praise from Cowell, Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union, Judge Howie Mandel explained that her performance was truly memorable.
"From the moment you came out, your smile was electric," Mandel marveled. "Life is a succession of moments, and people at home are talking about that moment, and people in this room are talking about that moment."
As Mandel spoke, he climbed on the judges' table with enthusiasm and said, "You said you wanted to leave an imprint, so I'll give you the imprint you need", while you're not sure. he trampled the Golden Buzzer, flooding the young singer in shimmering confetti.
America has talent will return next Tuesday at 20h ET / PT on NBC, where other hopefuls will be auditioned for a place in the next round of the competition.
