Amy Schumer had her uterus and appendix removed

The comedian and actor recently took to Instagram to reveal that she had had her uterus and appendix removed following treatment for her endometriosis.

“So it’s the morning after my operation for endometriosis, and my uterus has come out,” she said in the video. “The doctor found 30 points of endometriosis which he removed. He removed my appendix because the endometriosis attacked him.”

“There was … a lot of blood in my uterus, and I’m, you know, in pain, and I like gas pains.”

In the caption of the article, Schumer wrote: “If you have a really painful period, you can have #endometriosis.”

An important message to share, and one that clearly resonated with others: Amidst a multitude of wishes in IG’s comments, Jennette McCurdy expressed empathy regarding her similar experience. “My gynecologist just told me! ” she wrote. “I’m bedridden for 24 hours once a month. Thanks for bringing it up. I wish you a speedy recovery.”
