Amy Schumer has revealed that she had her uterus and appendix removed due to the damaging effects of endometriosis on her body.

The “I Feel Pretty” star on Saturday shared a video filmed by her husband, Chris Fischer, which showed her recovering in a hospital bed while detailing her operation.

“So it’s the morning after my operation for endometriosis and my uterus has come out,” she said on camera. “The doctor found 30 endometriosis points which he removed. He removed my appendix because endometriosis had attacked him.

“There was a lot, a lot of blood in my uterus and I’m, you know, sore and I like gas pain,” Schumer added.

Schumer, 40, also shared a mirror selfie of herself in her hospital gown.

“If you have a really painful period, you can have #endometriosis,” she captioned the post.

Former “Inside” star Amy Schumer also posted the selfie on her Instagram story to thank her doctors.

“Peace to endometriosis!” Thank you Dr Seckin and Dr Brill, ”she wrote in the photo.

Schumer’s friends, including model Olivia Culpo, who has also dealt with complications from endometriosis, took to the comments to share their support.

“❤️❤️❤️,” Culpo commented.

“Thank you very much for sharing your endo story. Over 200 million women worldwide suffer from it. Hope you will feel better soon! @Endofound,” wrote Padma Lakshmi, who founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America.

The “Trainwreck” star has been outspoken about how her endometriosis has affected her fertility. In August 2020, Schumer decided she could “never be pregnant again” after welcoming her now 2-year-old son Gene.

“We did IVF and IVF was really hard for me,” she said. “I don’t think I could ever do IVF again.

“I decided that I could never be pregnant again,” she continued. “We have been thinking about a surrogate mother, but I think we’ll wait for now.”
