A Boston-New York flight had to return to Boston after a bird strike.

A spokesman for American Airlines said in an email that flight 2163 to LaGuardia had taken off from Logan International Airport at 10:08 am Sunday and had landed 11 minutes later without a hitch.

The pilot reported hitting a flock of geese.

The flight included 99 passengers and a crew of four.

Passengers boarded a replacement aircraft that took off at 11:52.

The jet, an Embraer E190, has been evaluated by maintenance personnel.
