A girl was hit and a woman was shot in the leg on Saturday when a conflict between parents resulted in shots during a youth football game in Fort Worth, Texas, police said .

This incident began as a dispute between parents during a "pee-a-pie" football match, said officer J. Pollozani of the Fort Worth Police Department via email.

"It is thought that the son of one of the parents arrived at the scene armed with a handgun and began unloading his firearm," he said.

The shootout erupted during the third quarter of a match between the Fort Worth Longhorns and the 81G Bulldogs at Eastern Hills High School, reported KXAS, affiliate of NBC News, in Dallas-Fort Worth.

A mother thwarted by a fight between players, called an eldest son, arrived and reportedly opened fire, reported the station. Witnesses said they heard more than 10 blows coming from a small hill nearby.

The victims were hospitalized for life-threatening injuries, Pollozani said.

"The actor is always outstanding," he said.
