An attempt by an Apple AirPower

[ad_1]

When Apple canceled its AirPower Wireless Charging Mat earlier this year, many users of the company's latest devices became pissed off, but created a number of third-party options offering similar functionality. One of these products is the AirUnleashed Wireless Charging Mat, which looks like Apple AirPower Air and can charge up to three Qi devices simultaneously. There is a trap, of course.

Unlike Apple's AirPower (which would have used up to 32 overlapping charging coils), AirUnleashed only relies on three coils that can deliver up to 15.3 W to three devices: an iPhone, an Apple Watch and a headset Airpods. Many overlapping coils have allowed Apple to create a wireless charging mat that can charge up to three gadgets simultaneously, wherever they are on its surface. In contrast, AirUnleashed requires that Apple Watch be placed on a designated location.

The manufacturer of the wireless charging mat, also called AirUnleashed, indicates that the device works as a regular wireless charger: the rug stops charging devices when they are full. In the meantime, the rug requires at least one QC 2.0 compatible charger, so it is not compatible with Apple's default iPhone 5W adapter and requires an adapter for iPad.

As far as physical characteristics are concerned, the AirUnleashed measures 188 × 105 × 12 mm and has a white leather finish.

AirUnleashed is currently available directly from the company for $ 99.
