An Illinois girl who was shot in the head Monday night while she was at home died at the age of 12, according to local sources.
Kentavia Blackful was pronounced dead at around 10:30 pm Fox 32 reported Tuesday in an area hospital citing the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Blackful was shot around 9 pm Monday, the eve of her 12th birthday, at her home in Harvey, about half an hour from Chicago, police said.
The grandfather of the girl was outside on the porch when the shooter fired, sending bullets through the front window and an aluminum siding, reported the TV channel.

The rest of Blackful's family was in the living room watching the Chicago Bears game and putting the finishing touches on his birthday party when the shots were fired, reported WGN-TV, adding that Blackful was sitting in front of his computer when a bullet hit his head.
His family said Blackful chose t-shirt designs for his birthday party when the tragedy occurred. Paramedics took her to a critical condition in a nearby hospital.
The sixth would be a student of honor and basketball player from Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School. She planned to spend her birthday playing basketball and organizing a skating party, reported WLS-TV.

The police were still looking for those responsible. According to information provided by the local authorities, a reward of $ 3,500 was offered for information on the case.
