"After 18 years, I hang on and leave the chalk behind me. I could not be more proud of the person that gymnastics has made me. It taught me hard work, humility, integrity and dedication, just to name a few, "Cerio said on Instagram.

"For me, these are challenges and obstacles that I never imagined that put me to the test. It may not have finished as planned, but nothing is going as planned, "she continued.

According to WebMD, a dislocated knee means that the bones around this joint have been shaken with great force.

"Dislocated knees are rare, but they are serious. Other parts of your knee could also have been damaged at the same time. You must immediately consult a doctor to resume your healing journey, "says the website.

This is usually the result of car accidents, sudden falls and sports injuries, says the site, adding that it is very painful.
