An investigator claims that a man from North Carolina is accused of shooting two children in a rage case driving

A North Carolina man was arrested on Saturday after apparently shooting a 9-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl during a road rage incident involving their father, investigators said.

The two siblings were taken to the Surry County Northern Hospital by their father, Graig Allen Sheff, announced the Surry County Sheriff's Office. The boy was looked after and released. The girl was reported in stable condition after surgery.

The investigators did not specify what could have triggered the shooting beyond "road rage".

Surry County officials identified 41-year-old Byron Donnell Green as the suspect and found him in his Mount Airy apartment, Winston-Salem TV channel WXII-TV reported.

Green was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injuries, unloading a weapon from a property occupied, causing bodily injury and having been assaulted with the knife, announced the police.

Green was detained at the Surry County Detention Center on $ 600,000 bail.
