An officer killed during a roadside check in Mooresville

MOORESVILLE, NC – Mooresville police investigate an overnight officer involved in a killing.

  • The incident occurred just after 22 hours. Saturday night.
  • The victim, 32-year-old Jordan Harris Sheldon, was then taken to hospital where he died later.
  • The suspect was declared dead. There is no word on his identity yet.

The victim, 32-year-old Jordan Harris Sheldon, was conducting a roadside check on West Plaza Drive after being shot.

Sheldon was then taken to the hospital where he died later.

The suspect allegedly left the scene of the crime and was found in a nearby apartment complex, shot and wounded.

The suspect was declared dead. There is no word on his identity yet.

Sheldon spent six years with the Moorseville police working with his K-9 unit.
