SAN MATEO – An Uber driver who, according to authorities, was arrested on a videotape by security, after filing residents at an airport, was arrested, police said.
Police arrested Jackie Gordon Wilson in the Sacramento area on Friday around 9 pm
According to the police, a social platform dedicated to community surveillance announced that Wilson had been surprised by cameras that burgled a residence and tried to bump another. One of the incidents occurred an hour after Wilson filed a resident airport, police said.
On April 4, the police intervened in a building in the 1700 block of Nash Drive and found that it was completely ransacked. The owner had a video surveillance video showing a man suspected of being Wilson and had shared information on the social network platform Ring. Some people using the platform said that the suspect was an Uber driver who had just dropped the residents of block 600 of Rand Street at the airport.
According to the police, the pictures show this house in Rand Street an hour later. But an alarm sounded and he left, the police said. Images later showed the Nash Drive flight.
The two streets are half a mile apart.
The detectives followed clues in the case of a house in Rancho Cordova, where they, along with representatives of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at the house, police said. They found Wilson wearing the same clothes at the residence as in the video, and some of the items stolen from the Nash Drive burglary were at home, the police said.
Wilson is suspected of burglary and attempted burglary and was incarcerated in the San Mateo County Jail.
