Apple's new credit card, the Apple Card, is made of titanium. The credit card itself has a high-end appearance that Apple has achieved with a white finish implemented with a multilayer coating process on the titanium base of the card. And because of this, in addition to the fact that it is an Apple product, there are obviously special requirements to take care of this product.
Apple has literally recently released a cleaning guide for its new credit card, as discovered by AppleInsider. And all that is good, but some of the points mentioned in the cleaning guide are more than ridiculous.
First, Apple says that some fabrics – such as leather and denim – can cause permanent discoloration of the Apple Card that you can not wash. Yes, it basically means you can not put the Apple Card in your wallet if you have a leather wallet like most people, and you also need to make sure that it does not come into contact with your jeans. I am not joking.
And to clean the Apple card, the company suggests gently wiping it with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free microfiber cloth. It is strongly recommended that you do not use glass or household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia or abrasives to clean the Apple card. Apple also suggests making sure the Apple card does not touch other credit cards, magnets, or similar abrasives. It's quite understandable given that this is a titanium card, but the fact that you can not even put it in a leather wallet or jeans is just a joke. This is not the end of the world, however, you can simply order a replacement card from Apple if your current card is damaged.
