Singer-songwriter Anders Osborne has released "Running," the latest excerpt from his first album of 2019. Buddha and blues is expected for April 26 via Back On Dumaine Records.
"It's a dialogue about the endless pursuit of things that have no spiritual meaning to me," Osborne told the song. "The goals for which I was trained and to which I try to believe. When I ask myself these questions, I see that I am just running, that I am not going anywhere, without a specific result in mind. Escape at all costs now, including my health and serenity. "
Anders wrote "Running" in his hometown of New Orleans before bringing it to the sessions held at Brethern Studios in Ojai, California, which resulted in the release of the album. Neil Young contributor Chad Cromwell produces the LP and plays drums on Buddha and blues. The rest of Osborne's band consisted of the famous studio guitarist Waddy Wachtel (Stevie Nicks, Linda Rondstadt, Keith Richards, Warren Zevon), bassist Bob Glaub (Jackson Browne, John Lennon, Don Henley), Tom Petty and Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench and singer Windy Wagner (Ringo Starr, Rod Stewart).
"[It] started as a popular fingerpicking idea in my garden, "added Osborne. "I was trying to talk about someone else that I thought who never deals with their most important problems internally, but goes full steam, filling his life with useless activities. . Someone who knows something has to change – even knows what those changes are – but still does not. Then, at the end of the melody writing, I realized that it was me.
