Andrew Benintendi, balloon fault

Benintendi, who opened the game and started on the left for the Red Sox after the flu virus escaped from Jackie Bradley Jr., had a bruise on his right foot after throwing a ball in the bottom of the leg at the end of the third inning.

X-rays were negative and the Red Sox listed them day-to-day.
