Andrew McCabe: It's time to open a dismissal investigation against Trump

Chris Cuomo asked McCabe on CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time" show: "Do you believe that an impeachment investigation is justified on the basis of what you understand and what is clear from the Mueller report? "

"Absolutely," said McCabe.

"I think we're clearly there with the results of the team of special legal advisers," McCabe said. "There are so many witnesses who could bring important vital testimony to Congress that we can only do it as part of a dismissal investigation."

He stated that "this action should be taken immediately" and that it was "irrelevant" to know whether the investigation resulted in acts of impeachment.

"I think the American people have the right to hear witnesses and understand exactly the actions taken by the president, and he has the opportunity to incorporate this information into his decisions, his voting decisions, little matter what could happen, "said McCabe. I said.

"The time has come to disseminate this information," he said.

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe in March 2018, less than two days before his planned retirement at the age of 50, when he would have been eligible to receive early retirement benefits .

Trump had regularly provoked McCabe and accused him of misleading internal investigators of the Department of Justice.

McCabe was removed from office following a report by the Inspector General concluding that he had misled investigators into the role he would have played in the FBI for that purpose. He speaks to The Wall Street Journal about his involvement in a public corruption investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

After his dismissal, McCabe fired back, accusing his dismissal of being part of a larger effort by the administration to discredit the FBI and the special council's investigation into the interference of the Russia in the 2016 presidential election.
