Andrew Yang moves to Georgia to help in second round of Senate elections

Andrew Yang, a former Democratic presidential candidate, has announced that he and his family will move to Georgia to help Democrats win two races that will determine who will control the US Senate.

“This is our only chance to take down Mitch and help Joe and Kamala get things done for the next 4 years. More details to come but let’s go !!! »Yang wrote on Saturday, referring to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R. Ky).

The fight for Senate control continues after two races in Peach State ended in second-round elections, with none of the candidates reaching 50% of the vote, as required by law Georgian.

That means GOP incumbent Senator Kelly Loeffler will once again face Democratic challenger Reverend Raphael Warnock, as will GOP Senator David Perdue and his opponent Jon Ossoff.

The races on January 5 are perhaps as significant as the race for the White House with Senate control at stake.

With a Republican-controlled Senate, McConnell will have the ability to block all major policy proposals from a Biden-Harris White House.

Yang, a New York-born entrepreneur, ended his candidacy for the White House in February. He developed a similar sect – dubbed the “Yang Gang” – and pursued progressive policies including a universal basic income.
