Android TV, 55 "QLED and more – Droid Life

the OnePlus TV quickly becomes less of a mystery, thanks to leaks, teasing and interviews with business leaders. Before the first big screen of OnePlus arrives in India next month, here is the information we know now.

First, OnePlus confirmed on Twitter that the TV will be 55 inches and will use QLED technology. This is the sophisticated TV technology developed by Samsung, but it is now licensed. It's like an LED, but with quantum dots that should produce better brightness, a wider color gamut and work more efficiently.

OnePlus President Pete Lau confirmed the role of QLED in an interview with 360 Gadgets yesterday, but went further on their plans for a television. First, OnePlus wants to create a TV that looks great. We have already heard of it before, but Lau does not seem to believe that there are many on the market, which is strange because there are countless TVs offering excellent images and producing a its ok.

Lau also said that they wanted a smart TV at home much more like a smart Google display (like a Nest hub). To do this, they actually use Android TV, but they plan to produce an "improved" user interface by "optimizing it". I did not know that Google was very open to partners who customized Android TV, so this could be a big development in this space. As an extension of TV intelligence, there will likely be some kind of link with OnePlus phones, possibly in the form of an app.

As for the price of all this, do not expect this TV to be economical. OnePlus wants to compete in the high-end, where Sony and Samsung are sitting, rather than with a half price TV. In other words, do not expect it to be a big price disrupter like the OnePlus One when it debuted.

As for specifications, people to @AndroidTV_Rumor has posted a screenshot that appears to come from the Google Play Developer Console, showing information about a OnePlus device that is supposed to be this TV. It shows a product equipped with a MediaTek MT5670 processor with a Mali-G51 MP3 GPU and Android 9. It displays a resolution of 1080p, but it could be an Android device, where it displays only 1080p content, while going to 4K needed.

Overall, the OnePlus TV sounds great and if OnePlus has found a way to further improve Android TV in the same way as Android, this is a very exciting news. I'm just worried about this price now.
