Andy Cohen and Cynthia Bailey are heartbroken at the news of the passing of NeNe Leakes’ husband Gregg Leakes.
The “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” host called Gregg a “wonderful man” on Twitter shortly after the news broke on Wednesday.
“I jokingly called him ‘Pastor Leakes’ but in truth he was a strong voice of reason and commanded great respect from the whole #RHOA team. I send love and strength to @neneleakes and the whole Leakes family ”, he wrote.
Bailey, who starred in “Real Housewives of Atlanta” with NeNe, wrote, “So many good times and so many amazing memories. Gregg has always been so affectionate, funny and kind. So blessed to have had him in my life. I send my deepest condolences to @NeNeLeakes and his family. I think of you, my heart and my prayers are with you.
Gregg died of colon cancer on Wednesday, his press secretary confirmed.
“Today, the Leakes family is in deep pain, heartbroken. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all his children, relatives and wife NeNe Leakes, ”the couple’s representative said in a press release.
The statement continued, “We ask you to pray for peace and strength over their families and allow them to mourn in private during this very, very difficult time.”
Wife NeNe revealed over the weekend that Gregg was “going to the other side,” receiving a surge of support from several other Bravolebrities.
“Pray for Gregg, @neneleakes and their family,” Kenya Moore wrote in her Instagram story on Monday. “Even through all of our ups and downs, Gregg has never treated me any differently, he’s always been kind and respectful.”
“I pray for you and your family,” Kim Zolciak wrote, adding: “I send you a lot of love.”
“Praying for all of you for so [sic] difficult time, ”commented Porsha Williams.
