Andy Reid leaves stadium by ambulance after Chiefs say coach feels bad after loss to Chargers

The Kansas City Chiefs faced much bigger business than Sunday’s loss – the health of their head coach. After Kansas City fell to the Los Angeles Chargers, Andy Reid couldn’t answer questions about his post-game media availability as the Chiefs announced he was feeling bad.

James Palmer of NFL Network reported that Reid left Arrowhead Stadium in an ambulance and the players were told their head coach should be fine. CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora said the move was preemptive. Reid was not feeling well and was dehydrated, but there were no serious medical issues with the head coach.

Tyrann Mathieu posted a post about Reid on social media after the game, offering the head coach his best wishes for his recovery.

Chiefs special teams coach Dave Toub answered questions in the post-game press conference in place of Reid, who is one win away from his 100th franchise win. Reid won 140 games with the Philadelphia Eagles (including the playoffs) and 99 with the Chiefs. If Reid reaches 100 wins, he will become the first head coach in NFL history to lead two different franchises to 100 wins.

The Chiefs face the Eagles next week.
