The status of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will receive a lot of attention this week and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid offered the first update following the 22-17 win over the Browns on Sunday. .

Mahomes left the game in the third quarter after suffering a concussion on a running game. Mahomes looked giddy on being helped after the game and was sent off shortly later.

Reid said Mahomes was feeling great after the game and the team would see where things went on Monday.

“He got hit in the back of the head and kind of put the wind out of him. . . he’s doing great right now, which is really positive, made all the deals he needed to get through, so we’ll see where that goes from here, ”Reid said, via Terez Paylor of Yahoo Sports.

Mahomes will have to follow concussion protocol in order to be cleared for the AFC Championship game and there is no prediction at this point if that will happen.
