Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's son accosted by paparazzi at school

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are professional actors, people who have made the conscious decision to pursue a career that would involve being in the limelight, even if they tend to be alone. Their 18-year-old son Maddox has not changed, and it's time to leave him alone.

A few weeks after her mother dropped her off at Yonsi University in South Korea, Maddox Jolie-Pitt was approached by a reporter who found her on campus. The paparazzo then asked if his father would visit him at school, which is a good thing to ask a child who, you know, has a less than brilliant relationship with his father.

"I do not know," Maddox replied. His smile at the question asked about his siblings has been replaced by an expression of embarrassment and a reluctance to look at his interlocutors in the eyes.

Then this guy asks an even more personal question – "Is your relationship with him somehow over?" – and gets an answer without commitment – "Whatever happens, happens" – because what else is it supposed to say?

It is this moment that denies the interview as a journalistic activity. It is voyeurism, pure and simple, and an opportunity to minimize the discomfort and real pain of a college freshman who, by chance, has a life experience that can be captured and sold by vultures of the media.

In a word, it sucks. Many things could be profitable, but our company has decided not to argue the non-economic costs. Let's add that children of celebrities must be addressed on this list.
