For Angelina Jolie, life in quarantine has been a chance to take a break from the race around film sets and press junkets and relax with her big brood.
“Well, we’re all here,” the actress said Pop of the day of E!. “So all six children, my oldest son is from Korea. Lots of popcorn and like all families we are just pajamas, dresses, snacks.
Jolie and her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, are the parents of 19-year-old Maddox; Pax, 16 years old; Zahara, 15 years old; Shiloh, 14 years old; and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12. It’s hectic to say the least, and that’s exactly what Jolie prefers.
“You know, I never enjoyed relaxation. I love chaos, ”Jolie said. “I went to high level meetings where there were dogs and balls, kids and stuff. You just like being human with everyone and laughing through it.
Yet the Maleficent the actress said she was trying to create “a little bit of structure” even though she admits she’s not really the best family member to do it. She herself said that her oldest daughter, Zahara, was “better than me at organizing things”.

In April, Jolie wrote about parenting during the COVID-19 pandemic for Time parental newsletter.
“I’m thinking of you,” she wrote to the moms and dads who are struggling to make everything work. “I imagine how hard each of you is trying to get through your days. How badly you want to guide your loved ones through this. How do you care. How you plan. How you smile for them, when inside you sometimes feel like you are breaking down.
Jolie reassured parents that they shouldn’t feel pressured to be perfect for their little ones.
“One thing that has helped me is knowing that it’s impossible,” she says. “It’s nice to find out that your kids don’t want you to be perfect. They just want you to be honest. And do your best. In fact, the bigger they have to be where you are weak, the stronger they can get. They love you. They want to help you. So at the end of the day, it’s the team that you build. And in a way, they uplift you too. You grow up together. “
