Angelina Jolie fights in Chloe Zhao’s epic Marvel superheroes

New images of “Eternals”, the entry of Chloe Zhao, director of two-time Oscar winner “Nomadland”, have arrived. The Marvel Studios / Disney cosmic film will hit theaters exclusively on November 5.

It’s different from other recent Disney releases such as “Black Widow,” which has opened day and day in theaters and on Premium Access Disney + to a lot of legal nonsense in the form of a (now settled) lawsuit by Scarlett Johansson. Marvel President Kevin Feige has been firm on preserving a theatrical experience for “Eternals,” whose massive ensemble includes Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Angelina Jolie, Barry Keoghan, Brian Tyree Henry and Kumail Nanjiani.

“I think a theater would be my preference and Chloe [Zhao]the preference of. We’ll see where we go with it ”, Kevin Feige says Variety during the recent MCU movie premiere “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”. (Unlike “Black Widow,” this movie will be released on Disney Plus after a 45-day window.)

As the movie mythology says, the Eternals are a race of advanced, immortal aliens who have lived on Earth in secret for eons. The group must unite to protect the human race from their evil opponents, the Deviants.

The Eternals were first created by Jack Kirby and made their original appearance in “The Eternals No. 1” in July 1976. Initially imagined as the protectors of Earth, they have long been engaged in a battle against the Deviants. Over decades of expanding comic book mythology, the Eternals have fought Deviants as well as each other, and Zhao’s film seeks to combine these struggles.

Zhao has promised that his signature cinematic style – lush views, magical lighting – will be fully on display in this film. As the director told The Hollywood Reporter, “I shot exactly how I wanted to. On the spot. Lots of magic hour. Three hundred and sixty degrees on the same camera I did on “Nomadland”. Same rigs. It’s a bit surreal. I’m still waiting for the shoe to drop. This is not the case. I think I was lucky that Marvel wanted to take risks and do something different.
