The angels announced that they had acquired Catcher Anthony Bemboom rays for money considerations.
This is the second transaction of the day involving Bemboom, which Rays have designated to be assigned in the afternoon. The 29-year-old had been on the injured list for more than two months for more than two months because of a knee injury, but his return led him to leave his Tampa Bay post.
Bemboom is now in a meeting with the Angels, who have selected him for the 22nd round in the 2012 draft. He was with the club until Colorado caught him in the 2016 draft according to Rule 5, although Bemboom never reached the majors in two seasons in the Rockies organization. He made his MLB debut earlier this year with the Rays, who signed him for a contract with the minor leagues in the offseason, scoring just five appearances in front of the plate before his injury.
