At a party during which the Angels of Los Angeles paid tribute to their fallen teammate, Tyler Skaggs, they also marked the story.
Launcher Taylor Cole and Felix Peña combined their efforts to form the 13th victory in Major League Baseball history in the Angels' 13-0 win over the Seattle Mariners.
With each player wearing Skaggs' number 45 on the back, the Angels could apparently do nothing wrong. The story was at the beginning of their first run, with a house moved by Mike Trout.
It then became the throwing of the Angels as the sleeves without a glance flew away.
Cole served as the opening point for Friday's game. He started by removing the six batters he was facing. Peña took over in the third inning and made the big effort, throwing five innings without a hit. His fifth walk of Omar Narváez was all that separated the exit from his perfection.
The no-hitter was the 11th by the Angels, and the second combined effort of the franchise. On April 11, 1990, Mark Langston and Bobby Witt teamed up to complete this feat, which was also opposed to the Mariners.
Overall, it's No. 301 in the history of the MLB, which includes the playoffs.
