Each Los Angeles Angels player wore number 45 on Friday night in tribute to teammate Tyler Skaggs, a pitcher who was found dead in a Texas hotel room earlier this month.
The team wore red shirts at home with the Skaggs name and number in their first match since the All-Star break. Skaggs was also honored at the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday in Cleveland.

The Angels also shared a video tribute to Skaggs' life before Friday's game against the Seattle Mariners, which also featured the player's family. The match was played one night before what would have been Skaggs' 28th birthday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The 27-year-old pitcher, whose cause of death was not disclosed, was the subject of other tributes. His jersey, cleated shoes and gloves are still hanging in his locker and several photos of him are displayed around the Angel Stadium, where the team lives in Anaheim.
A memorial of fans outside the main entrance continues to develop.

"He's still part of the team, even though he's not here," said Angels manager Brad Ausmus.
"Honestly, that's the life of the team," said center Zack Cozart. "We are family here.We are around each other all day, every day.You have so much trouble to Tyler's family … it's so sudden. and so tragic, Forty-five (the Skaggs shirt number) will always be in my mind, that's how it will always be for all of us. "
