Turkey day is Animal Crossing: New horizonsequivalent to Thanksgiving, featuring Franklin the Turkey Chef. (A turkey is the chef, not a chef who cooks turkey.)
Sure November 26 from 9 a.m. to midnight, players will find Franklin in their Resident Services area with a stove in front of him. He’ll need help gathering the ingredients to make a delicious Turkey Day meal and if you help him out, he’ll reward you with special DIY recipes and furniture for Turkey Day.
Each recipe below has a set of potential ingredients, as well as a secret ingredient. Giving Franklin the secret ingredient in the recipe will give you a bonus piece of furniture. In order to get Turkey’s Day DIY Recipes, you’ll need to give her secret ingredients for all four recipes, so make sure you do that.
If you are missing items like mushrooms or pumpkins, some of your villagers are cooking in their homes and may be able to help. They will exchange specific fish in exchange for certain necessary ingredients, so you can do that if you avoid time travel.
Clam chowder recipe
- 3 Manila clams
- Secret ingredient: 1 scallop
If you don’t want to turn Pascal down when he comes out of the ocean wanting the scallop, you don’t have to. He will only spawn once per day, so you can give him the first scallop and dig up another for Franklin.
Reward: Day rug Turkey
Pumpkin pie recipe
- 1 orange pumpkin
- 1 green, white or yellow pumpkin
- Secret ingredients: 2 pumpkins that are not the same colors as the ones you submitted for the main recipe
Reward: Turkey wall
Gratin recipe
- 1 round mushroom, 1 lean mushroom, 1 flat mushroom or 1 oyster (northern hemisphere), 1 squid (southern hemisphere)
- 1 mussel (northern hemisphere), 1 sea urchin (southern hemisphere)
- Secret ingredient: 1 sleeper crab
Reward: Turkey Day Floor
Meunière fish recipe
- 1 sea bass
- 1 red snapper, 1 plaice or 1 serving (northern hemisphere)
- Secret ingredient: Knifejaw crossed out
Franklin will only ask for a Dab if you are playing on an island in the Northern Hemisphere. He will only ask for red snapper or winter plaice from players in the southern hemisphere.
Reward: Cornucopia
Other Turkey Day Awards
While the initial rewards you get from Franklin, like the Rug and the Cornucopia, cannot be crafted, the first rewards you get for cooking with secret ingredients will give Turkey Day Furniture that you can craft, once you get the recipes. You can potentially get any of the following from Franklin before you get the recipes:
